Kana + Shahid tied the knot on a gorgeous late August day with their people at the STUNNING Estate 248 Wedding venue. After reaching out, we FaceTimed to get to know each other better and from that instant I knew we were a good fit and I was literally counting down the days til their big day! Not to mention, both Tim and I have family in the lower mainland so we're always happy to have a reason to come visit!
On the morning of the big day, Kana got ready with her girls on the venue grounds and Shahid spent the morning with his guys sipping Japanese whiskey at a nearby hotel. Once ready, they had the CUTEST first look you will ever see. Seriously. Kana kept covering Shahid's eyes far longer than she needed to and it made for the most adorable reaction.
From there, we explored the gorgeous grounds to capture their portraits and their wedding party pictures. Kana's biggest request was that she didn't want super staged bridal party photos, she just wanted to hang with her girls and have that captured.
Once the sun started to get lower in the sky, their guests began to arrive and everyone gathered under a canopy tree for the ceremony. They shared the sweetest vows and we couldn't help ourselves from capturing all the beaming faces in the crowd. I really don't think I've seen happier guests on a wedding day.
Sadly, Shahid's dad had recently passed and was greatly missed at the ceremony. They made sure to acknowledge and honour his life, leaving not a single dry eye in the audience. To honour him, Shahid had his dad's name engraved on his watch.
Once everyone finished hugging and congratulating them, the lawn games began and drinks were filled. The reception involved delicious food, hilarious speeches, and a killer dance party. The speeches were so incredible that we ended up completely missing sunset. At first, I was worried but Kana + Shahid were so understanding and easygoing that I think we made magic anyways. They danced in the blue hour and soaked up the last few hours of their wedding day.
