Wow. I can honestly say I'll never forget Michelle and Jon's wedding day. Tim and I headed out Friday night to Mount Engadine Lodge and as soon as we arrived, we couldn't get over the beauty of the place. I'm a big fan of Kananaskis Country and always advocate for it over Banff/Canmore - but this place was far more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. After venturing around and exploring the grounds, we were welcomed in by their families and asked to join dinner. There was some nervousness because a HUGE snowfall has just occurred the night before and the meadow where their ceremony was planned to take place was covered with a blanket of snow. It became a running joke for the weekend that Michelle and Jon's summer solstice wedding had turned into a winter one. Everyone was crossing their fingers that by morning the snow would disappear. Fortunately, it did! However not enough to still have the ceremony in the meadow. Instead, they opted for the patio of the lodge and if you ask me, I think it worked even better. Everyone last minute pushed the table benches into formation and squished in together to witness Michelle and Job tie the knot. It was honestly so intimate and beautiful. Following the ceremony was champagne for all, ski shots, and the most amazing dinner. They topped the night off with a sparkler lit first dance under the starry mountain skies.
