From the moment we first spoke with Jaclyn about hers and Adam's wedding day, we knew it would be special. She made it clear from the beginning that all she wanted was to be married and to celebrate with her people. Even setbacks like the c-word couldn't stop these two from having an intentional day with their village. The day started at Westerly Edge where the guests gathered together for the ceremony overlooking beautiful Alberta Foothills. We loved the intimate and casual setting of having everyone literally "gather" around rather than sitting down. They made sure to acknowledge the sacred treaty land that they were standing on before beginning. Following the ceremony, they shared a champagne toasts with their guests and then we headed off for the mountains! It was really important for them to have photos done in the mountains so we set aside as much time as possible to explore the Kananaskis area. With near perfect timing, the rain starting coming in as soon as we finished and we raced to the cars to head for the reception at Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge. The evening was filled with lots of laughter, drinks, and quality time with friends. We feel so lucky to have been able to document the day!
