Fairmont Banff Springs Elopement | Banff Wedding Photographer & Videographer

Irena and Arcady were meant to get married on a warm summer day in 2020. Unfortunately, the world had other plans. Borders closed, social gatherings were limited, and so they put their wedding plans on hold. As 2020 rolled by, they began discussing the idea of eloping. It was something they had always considered, but with how large their families were and the logistics of it all, it didn't seem possible. As the pandemic continued on, it became clear that even in 2021, weddings weren't going to look the same. Faced with the idea of postponing for a second time, choosing to elope again seemed like the best alternative. Irena wasn't looking forward to having all the attention on her during the big day, and with the borders closed they realized - bittersweetly - that they had a unique opportunity before them. So, they traded in their large summer wedding for an intimate two person winter elopement. They reached out to us to let us know their new plans and we were 100% game. We're suckers for elopements. It's such a unique opportunity to dedicate your entire day entirely to you and your relationship. No distractions, no drama, just a celebration of your love. Personally, we think this should be the attitude of all wedding days, but that's just us.

On a cold December morning, Irena and Arcady got up before the crack of dawn and began to get ready together in their quaint hotel room at the Fairmont Banff Springs. Slowly, the sun began to rise and painted the neighbouring mountaintops with a soft pink light. Once the sun finally made its appearance, they met up with their officiant at Two Jack Lake and exchanged vows without another soul in sight.

It was the most perfect and simplistic day.
