Dreamy Outdoor Summer Wedding in Calgary, AB

Sometimes when we meet clients, we can tell from the get-go that they're a perfect fit for us. When I first sat down with Grace and Merrill back in November 2018, it was one of those times. I'm pretty sure I drove home and burst in the door saying to Tim, "We need to be best friends with them."

When we work with couples, we really want to get to know them. You won't hear us asking about your wedding colours or the type of food you'll be having. Instead, we'll ask questions about you and your relationship. What you love about each other. What your love languages are. How you first met. Our jobs become infinitely easier when we know the couple on the other side of the camera. This isn't just a business transaction for us, we do this job because we love it and we love serving our couples through authentic storytelling. Grace and Merrill have become one of those couples that we've gotten to know beyond the wedding day and we're so grateful for that.

Grace and Merrill tied the knot on a gorgeous Sunday on June 23rd. We'd had a really rainy summer so far in Calgary and Grace had been worried the week leading up about bad weather during their outdoor ceremony. The morning started with a light drizzle, but Grace's spirits were high. Nothing was going to ruin her mood. She and her closest gals got ready in a beautiful Airbnb in NW Calgary while Merrill and his guys got ready in their new home together downtown. One of my favourite parts of the morning was watching Grace take twenty minutes or so to just sit down and chat with her dad and brother. There was no stress, just cherishing the time with her family. We highly encourage couples to take time during your day to stop and look around at the people there celebrating with you. You'll be so glad you did once the day has flown by.

Once Grace's dress was on and everyone was ready to go, we headed out for the ceremony held at Confederation Park. With the help of Happy Trails Events and family friends, the most stunning ceremony was set up under a canopy of trees. By this time, the clouds had parted and the sun began to shine down through the trees.

Grace made her way down the aisle to Merrill and I've never seen anyone grin as hard as Merrill did that day. I'm usually pretty good at keeping my cool during ceremonies but this wasn't one of those times. It was a gorgeous day celebrating a gorgeous love.
